Jane is the one who brings the artwork and the products together. She scans the artwork in, often taking several scans to optimise the result making it as true to the original as possible. She conducts the designing, protoyping and sampling.
She is also respsonible for all of the printing, binding & laminating of the various products we sell.
Janes other main tasks is to look after much of the sales, marketing and delivery activity, liaising with our growing list of trade stockists.
Jane has also developed a wide range of window clings and fresh and original hand made greetings cards for those special occasions, which are often personalised. You can see her cards on this site here
Interested in drawing from an early age, Myra is self taught. The inspiration to start drawing with pen and ink came in 1982 when she was given the book 'A Lune Sketchbook' by Alfred Wainwright. It contained many richly detailed pen and ink drawings. Myra was instantly hooked and bought herself some technical pens and ink. Using the book as her inspiration she set about the task of trying to draw some of Lancaster's historic buildings. Today Myra is inspired by stone, wood, glass and light and enjoys the challenge of trying to convey the character and essence of the scenes she draws. Texture, colour and reflection all play their part in her work. Through her drawings, Myra hopes to capture more than plain walls, windows and doors, bringing out the fascinating character of buildings whatever their age.
Working from her own sketches and photographs, Myra uses mainly .10 and .18 technical pens to make the detailed drawing and then applies watercolour. In 2000, after being made redundant, Myra set up Fine Lines in partnership with Jane. Myra’s work sells throughout Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire.
Jane and Myra are the partners who make up Fine Lines, having been firm friends for many years.
