Brief Encounter is a masterpiece in Cinematic history. It tells the tale of unrequited love between strangers.
Starring Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson this landmark film is one of the true greats. It affords a view on morality and life from a different age.
The film scenes feature a tea room and station platform with a large clock. These famous scenes
were filmed at Carnforth station just inside North Lancashire. The station has been restored to
how it would have been in the film.
It is now a wonderful representation of the film set, every detail has been faithfully researched and copied with many items specially made as they are no longer available.
The clock has also been restored to how it looked in the film.
The station is now a popular tourist attraction with great plans for the future and
we have captured those most famous scenes in fine ink pen drawings, black and white film-effect paintings and full colour paintings - as it is now.
These highly detailed and evocative paintings are featured in a number of Carnforth station items and can be found in the souvenir shop there as well as on this website. Click here for the Brief Encounter Gallery
