Fine Art Desk Calendar of Kendal

January : Kendal Town Hall

Perhaps the most noticable of Kendal Town Centre landmarks, this is also the home of the Tourist Information centre.

February : Highgate Pharmacy

This is tyical of the fascinating, older buildings along Kendal's high street.

March : Natland Church

St Mark's in Natland is a gem of a church in the South Lakes style, with a square, castelated tower.

April : Stainton

The quiant village of Staninton is easily missed, tucked away to the south of Kendal but is well worth a visit, a beautiful village.

May : Nether Bridge

As you approach Kendal from the South on tt the main street you see this bridge spanning the River Kent with the impressive parish church in the background.

June : Levens Hall

Levens Hall is world renowned for its topiary gardens which are magnificent, the hall itself is also an impressive country pile.

July : New Inn

Kendal has numerous buildings of character along the main street and the New Inn is one of them. A low building finished off with white walls and black woodwork.

August : Farers coffee shop

Another of Kendals attractive buildings along the high street, Farrers is also finished off in the contrasting white and black colourway with a colorful window display.

September : Arnside

The village of Arnside sits on the banks of the tidal estuary feeding into Morecambe Bay. Noted for its promenade and railway aqueduct seen in the background of our scene.

October : Kendal Castle

The castle ruins remind us of Kendals past as an established market town and regional centre.

November : War Memorial

The war memorial stands proudly in the centre of Kendal "Lest we Forget".

December : St Marys Church Crosthwaite

The once farming community of Crosthwaite is a picturesque village with an impressive South Lakeland church.
