Before Ford was successfully rallying Escorts, the Mk 1 Cortina proved to be a great rally car. It was rugged, durable and with Lotus power proved swift.

Notes
The Mark II Cortina was rallied as a stop-gap between Cortina I and the Escorts. It proved to be a pretty useful car at rallying and could take a fair amount of punishment while being reasonably quick.
