The RS Cosworth Escort rally program was not the success Ford hoped for. It was quick on tarmac but often let down by cooling and reliability problems. On paper it looked a world beater and managed 8 WRC victories in 4 seasons.

The Escort WRC, based on the Cosworth continued Ford's rally program until Focus was ready picking up 2 wins in 1997 and several seconds

The cars here are Tommi Makinen's 1000 lakes winner from 1994, the 1987 Carlos Sainz driven Acropolis rally winner and the 1998 Monte Carlo 2nd placed car driven by Juha Kankkunen
